Hacking starts on Sunday, 7. April, at 9.00 a.m. and lasts until 7.00 p.m. We expect 200 hackers in the Kosmos. To help you let your creativity flow, a number of droidcon partners are bringing their APIs and SDKs to Berlin. Prizes of around 10k Euros (cumulated) may as well add to the motivation to get up early.
Here’s who commited to come by now:
- Dynastream provide the Ant+ solution for connectivity and interoperability between ultra low power devices to be used in sport, health, point of information, asset tracking and home/industrial automation. On the premises, there will be a range of devices including remote control, weight scale, heart rate monitor, location beacon, foot pod, bike speed and cadence sensors. Read the Ant+ for Android documentation
- Netmera provide their mobile backend platform and API enabling apps to store, search and retrieve data and content on the cloud.
Developer Garden, a branch of Deutsche Telekom, offer a reward for the best app which uses their API. By the way: During moosecon in
Hannover, Evangelist Sascha Wolter gave a demonstration of what can be achieved by using a Lego Mindstorm and this API.
Ford developer program will introduce you to SYNC® AppLink™
SYNC® AppLink™ is a suite of APIs that provides the capability for mobile developers to AppLink enable their mobile applications. Developers have the ability to extend the command and control of the mobile application’s features to the vehicle occupants in a responsible, non-distracting way through the use of familiar in-vehicle Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) such as SYNC Voice Command, Steering wheel and radio buttons. SYNC® AppLink™-compatible mobile applications are available for Android™ and iOS® platforms. Ford recommends that you enable all versions of your application with AppLink compatibility to ensure a consistent user experience for all of your app users.
Make sure to register and download the SDK in preparation for the Hackathon:
- Strato provide their Android API for the HiDrive online storage solution.
More devices, like Moverio smart goggles by Epson and I'm Watch.
Not to forget: Aside from the dedicated APC contest which is also part of droidcon, VIA are providing a number of APC rock boards. In case you are not yet familiar with the concept of an Android-based low-cost PC, this is a great opportunity to keep up!
