Educational Leave (Bildungsurlaub)

droidcon Berlin is an offical event for advanced training. Therefore, employees who are working for a Berlin, Brandenburg or Rheinland-Pfalz-based company have the chance to request educational leave from their employer. Applicants need to submit their educational leave request six to four weeks in advance. Find all necessary applications and information below.

Requirements

Requirement for being able to apply for an educational leave is being employed in Berlin, Brandenburg and Rheinland-Pfalz. Well, having kind of a connection to the field of Android development would be awesome as well :-)
Important: The job location is decisive and not your place of residence (e.g. you are living in Berlin but working in Cologne → unfortunately you cannot apply for an educational leave in this case!)

Application forms

In the bottom part of this page you can find a document called "bildungsveranstaltung_bescheid_berlin", "bildungsveranstaltung_bescheid_brandenburg", and "bildungsveranstaltung_bescheid_rheinlandpfalz". You have to present the application form to your employer and you need a reference number from your employment or education authority. Check out the relevant link provided by the city of Berlin. More information on educational leave for the state of Brandenburg can be found here. Further information on educational leave for the state of Rheinland-Pfalz can be found here.

What's the next step?

With the application form you can refer to your employer. The application for exemption has to be handed in 4-6 weeks ahead of the event. You can download the example “beispielantrag_bildungsurlaub” below.

We will provide a registration confirmation with title, time period and the approval of the event format. After the conference, you will need a certificate of participation in order to propound to your employer. Please come to our accreditation counter at droidcon Berlin to register for the form.

In case of any open questions, please contact us at info(at)droidcon.de.

We are looking forward to welcoming you in Berlin!
