Joanna Smith is a Developer Advocate working on Android at Google. She co-founded the Android Development Patterns content series, in order to teach best practices to Android developers and to help bust bad app behavior. She was an instructor in the Advanced Android App Development course, created with Udacity, that teaches developers how to make an app that is production-ready, and not simply functional. Before joining Google she studied at The University of Texas at Austin, focusing on CS Education, Distributed Systems, and Natural Language Processing. She is passionate about words and education, especially with regard to technology. But above all, she wants to help developers #BuildBetterApps.
